Fiber is not impossible to tap — fiber optic taps exist (bend the fiber slightly to detect leaked light). Fiber tap attempts typically cause detectable optical signal loss. For highest-security communications, fiber is preferred over copper for physical security. Not immune but significantly harder to compromise.
