What is a honeynet?

A honeynet is a network of honeypots designed to attract and study attackers in a realistic but isolated environment — gathering threat intelligence on tools and techniques.
Honeynets are more realistic than single honeypots — attackers can move laterally within them. All traffic to a honeynet is suspicious. Used by research teams to study real attacker behavior and collect malware samples.
